[Rearchitecture] Watchlist issues
Amrayu78
Max Romanchenko bugs
Max Romanchenko
Amrayu78 I fixed the status change to Unknown and the date clearing when changing watched episodes. I also fixed multiple clicks to add a post to the watchlist (problem with multiple reviews).
However, I can't reproduce what raiden mentioned in the screenshot.
I installed Brave browser but it didn't help me understand the problem.
I also increased this field a little. I checked in the database and I see this:
'drama' => 'Apollo no Uta',
'ep_watched' => 6,
so raiden's list is set to 6 watched episodes (drama Apollo no Uta).
Can you please confirm whether 6 is displayed for Apollo no Uta or not?
I could use some help from the admins, can you repeat raiden's problem and help me understand what kind of glitch it is?

Max Romanchenko: Cat cat can you test the above since you use brave? I do not use brave so can't test.
Amrayu78
Max Romanchenko: Here's some more details from the user. The issue isn't fixed.
raiden: There is a minor issue I just noticed in the search bar "red" when I type the title of the drama, even though it exists on the Drama Otaku website, it doesn’t appear in the results. That’s why, when I add it from the "green" search bar and toggle the "purple" arrow box to select the episodes I’ve watched, the box remains blank.
They are using both Chrome and Brave, issue exists in both and they're on Windows.

Amrayu78 I am very surprised how some users use the search.
It seems that the situation is becoming a little clearer.
- The global site search (which Raiden marked in green) is not intended for adding posts to the watchlist. I fixed it and now this method is no longer available.
- The red search (the quick add to watchlist form) is what you need. The reason why you couldn't add a post to your watchlist was not a glitch but a feature, you can't add the same post to the watchlist twice, it doesn't make much sense, right? I checked your watchlist and I see that you added Eyesee ~Shunkan Kioku Sousa ・ Hiiragi han~ twice (there may be others). That's why the red form should be used for adding to the watchlist. Maybe we need to improve the user experience and notify users that the post they are looking for is already in their watchlist.
- The third problem remains. I see that the data about watched episodes is saved in your watchlist and most likely it is a display problem. Can I ask you to make a short video with the problem on how you add quick episodes. It will be very helpful. Thank you.

Max Romanchenko: Hi Max, some more details from the user:
raiden: hey i just want to say that it's working. i double checked and found some of the titles that i experienced an issue with were in "currentlywatching" and "completed" tabs. that's why it was acting up. i apologize for the inconvenience. thank again
I think he's using the sitewide search to see if the drama exists or not, of course it does. He's using it to compare against the red search.
Amrayu78
Max Romanchenko: For the 2nd point, maybe if they search for the title, it should still appear in the dropdown, but it should be grayed out and have a badge "Currently Watching" "Dropped" "Completed"

Amrayu78 Thanks for the details. Yes, I was thinking about something similar to what you said, maybe it won't work with statuses, since it's an extra load - to check each post with the user's watchlist. But of course it wouldn't hurt to make the desired post unavailable for selection and somehow notify the user that the post is already in his watchlist. I'll come back when the solution is ready.

Amrayu78 Max Romanchenko I'm not sure I really understand what the issue raiden was talking about is lol. I use brave but it's showing up fine for me (however I guess this could be mobile as I know they have an mobile internet browser?)
I had the issue with the numbers not showing up under the watchlist previously but once Max changed the field size it worked perfectly for me after that so I'm unable to produce any further bugs.

I double checked on brave mobile browser and it's working fine for me!

Cat Thanks for the extra check. I guess raiden couldn't save the watched episodes because the post was added twice to his watchlist (this problem has been fixed). I'll have to create a notification that the post is already in the watchlist. Thanks!

Amrayu78 I expanded the search functionality in the watchlist and in custom lists. If the post has already been added to the watchlist/list, it will be displayed in the search results, but will be displayed as disabled and an alert will appear when clicked. I think this is a fairly balanced solution that does not overload the site.
