Archiving files in Subtitle Projects
Amrayu78
Problem: Sometimes Fansubbers will upload a new version of a file, but they want to still see the download numbers from the older file. If they replace or unattach the file, these numbers and the other file is gone.
Solution:
Allow users to "archive" an older file, but retain download numbers.
Archived files aren't downloadable anymore, but their existence is still present but grayed out. Check screenshot.

Max Romanchenko New enhancement for you.
Max Romanchenko
Amrayu78 Thank you for the new improvement.
I have a question: would it be useful to store the date of archiving and the user who archived the file? (This information could be displayed under the disabled Download button, for example.)
Amrayu78
Max Romanchenko: Sure, adding a date/user of the archived file would be useful. Thanks!
Max Romanchenko
Amrayu78 OK, should this information be public or only visible to the project author or administrator?
Amrayu78
Max Romanchenko For date: public; for user: author/admin

Max Romanchenko It might make sense to add the archive action in the edit page? An archive button here? This is different from my mockups, but I think it makes sense here.
Max Romanchenko
Amrayu78 Done. I've tested it and it works as expected, please check it out.
Max Romanchenko
Amrayu78 Yes, that makes sense. But I don't have much control over this element in the editing form.If you want, I can certainly do it here too. Maybe instead of checkboxes, it would be better to have an "Archive" button next to each file? Please let me know what you think about this.
Amrayu78
Max Romanchenko actually let’s leave it on the front end, but add an archive button in the edit form too, like you suggested
Max Romanchenko
Amrayu78 Of course. Is it needed to add an "Unarchive" button to the editing form if the file is already archived? (in case the file was archived by mistake)
Amrayu78
Max Romanchenko Yes, we can add Unarchive too.
Amrayu78
Max Romanchenko I'm testing the current implementation and it works, but can you make these style adjustments?
Also the "View Downloaders" doesn't load anything for the archived file when I click it.
Max Romanchenko
Amrayu78 I've fixed it and made the changes. Please check it again.

Max Romanchenko Can we remove the badge "Archived", so it can match the Added: line.
